I am going to make a shawl with my NC yarn to go with a dress I will be wearing when I attend a wedding in August. I do keep track of yarn by yards on my own, not with Ravelry as I really don't list my yarn on that site. I started to put my yarn on Ravelry and I just did not finish so I keep it on a spreadsheet in a folder near my desk, the old fashioned way I guess. Hope you are well my friend.Mereknitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04596140300034854370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703986833050265474.post-90177994145736008812018-07-05T17:27:46.722+09:302018-07-05T17:27:46.722+09:30I admire your efforts to only use stash. Seriously, I did have projects in mind for the yarns bought. I have been looking for suitable substitutes for discontinued yarns for ages and here they were, so I grabbed them while I had the opportunity.

Now my yarn calendar is full!

Do you already have a yarn and project in mind for your planned North Carolina purchase?

You measure your stash in yards. How do you keep track of that? Does Ravelry do it for you? My Ravelry stash will tell me how many different skeins I have but I can't find the yardage listed as a grand total anywhere. I am hoping I don't need to use my manual calculator to add up the totals of hundreds of yarn entries.
Perhaps it is better not to know!

Happy travels Meredith! :-)Jodiebodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11377052537742885631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703986833050265474.post-66854500279292232702018-07-05T17:17:07.087+09:302018-07-05T17:17:07.087+09:30Hi Kylie,

I love the upcycling you are sharing and your bag made from old electrical wiring looks great - colourful, strong and with a no-waste ethic! https://www.facebook.com/ABagAndAHat

I will be recommending that people have a look at the Waste Not Want Not exhibition this month at the Pepper Street Arts Centre in Adelaide. Congratulations on having your work included.

I hope we will cross paths sometime again with our crafts.
Cheers! Here's to the power of a hook! xx
Jodiebodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11377052537742885631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703986833050265474.post-74806624622169297592018-07-05T17:00:21.395+09:302018-07-05T17:00:21.395+09:30I'm glad you like it. I'm keen to see how my other string bag patterns turn out - I have a few in books and pamphlets which use a range of yarn weights from size 10-12 thread to DK cotton. Then add the new patterns I found while writing this blog entry and it should be enough to keep me busy for some time.

I can't imagine how long YOUR 'to do' list would be! You are always busy making, baking, fixing etc. What kinds of crafty projects are keeping you busy at the moment?Jodiebodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11377052537742885631noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703986833050265474.post-12480714631640269862018-07-01T03:48:39.203+09:302018-07-01T03:48:39.203+09:30Such a terrific project. My stash was under 19,000 yards before my trip to New York. I am going to North Carolina in July and will visit one store while there, but other than that no other yarn purchases are allowed this year. Just using what I have.Mereknitshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04596140300034854370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703986833050265474.post-23310847557637027342018-06-29T08:54:30.323+09:302018-06-29T08:54:30.323+09:30I have been making shopping bags too.I have been making shopping bags too.Kylie Willisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17665781772166367709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-703986833050265474.post-57463741681775744382018-06-28T17:15:07.483+09:302018-06-28T17:15:07.483+09:30What a great make on so many levels, that is one t...What a great make on so many levels, that is one that I have put on my to do list.mamasmercantilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14011278973985658118noreply@blogger.com
