He is very bright too! I'm glad you came to have a look at him. He is seven weeks old in these pictures. It's like having a toddler in the house again having to bunny-proof everything but he is already revealing his personality.
Yes, they are very sociable. What type of rabbit do you have and what is its name? Max's hutch is indoors to reduce the risk of catching myxomatosis which is carried by mosquitoes. There is no vaccine for 'myxy' in Australia as it is used as a biological control for feral rabbits. Max is quarantined indoors until his calici vaccinations become effective. In the meantime, he is a 'house rabbit' who enjoys sitting by the glass doors, looking out., when he is not playing with the children or being smothered with cuddles.
He is very sweet, and eager to please - he is already getting the hang of the toilet training, but the flipside of being a clever bunny and quick learner is that he can be mischievous too! It is lovely that he has received such a warm welcome from everyone.
Max is funny! I wish you could come and meet him. He was chasing my daughter the other day making a funny honking sound. That means he was excited to see her! Max is a very vocal bunny. He has met many new people since arriving at our house and is quite sociable and happy to receive pats.
Same to you Géraldine! Pets are so lovely. I hope we all have a long, loving relationship with our pets. I am sure Max would come and nudge you (and everybody) to say hello if he could meet you in person.
Like all young animals, it can be a lot of extra work in the early days - we have to be more attentive to catch good and bad behaviour as it happens but as he learns, it will get easier. He is so curious, it is hard to keep up with him sometimes!
He's very cute! :)
