Too Soon to Tell!

Do you want to know why you haven't seen any finished crochet here for a while?

I promise there are good reasons
—some can be shared and some need to wait
but the main reason can be summed up in two words:

Self-doubt & Sleeplessness on a Wednesday Morning

Morning light and the house is quiet.
fallen autumn leaves of reddish brown and yellow fallen onto green foliage.
I've been awake since at least 4 a.m. after tossing and turning for hours on the warmest April night since I don't know when. The temperature remained above 21° C (70° F) overnight which is unheard of, for this time of year.

Easter always heralds beanie and scarf weather for me–why are we getting summer nights in autumn?

Art Exhibitions June‒August 2016

A wooden easel holds a large dot painting of an Aboriginal spirit figure.

I've been lucky enough to visit three art exhibitions this year, two of them in one month alone!  While these do not include crochet specifically, the variety of work can serve to inspire creativity in all sorts of crafts.  If you ever feel like you are in a crochet design rut, I can highly recommend a visit to a gallery or exhibition to stimulate and rejuvenate your creative spirit.

What a Busy Month!

A collage of the photos which appear in this blog post plus the photo of magazines and rainbow scarf from an earlier blog entry during August.
A collage of August activities.
What a busy month August 2016 has been!

I'm not sure if it was a month of productivity or stupidity because there was so much going on. Some was forced upon me but much was of my own making.

A picture story today!

(and wearing enjoyment for those who want to buy one from Gallery M in Marion, South Australia).

Out of the Crochet Comfort Zone

I am a believer that the most learning and personal growth happens when one is 'outside the comfort zone' and this year, I've been tempted to go there.

Gifts of Friendship

Recently I had a very pleasant morning with a very close friend whom I had not seen for many months; not for want of trying, but due to hectic events, immovable commitments, and new schedules which refused to allow us a time of mutual convenience to meet!

First of the Autumn Scarves

At last! The first three scarves of Autumn 2014 are finished and ready to greet the world.

Some took longer than others, but I am proud of my self-designed silk mohair scarves.

It's the 1st of April but this is not an April Fool's Day joke - just a quick update on my current activities.

Fashioning the Fab Four (Part 7): Marketing the Image

All successful music groups need to market their product. Finding a unique image helps them to stand out from the crowd.  My Amigurumi Fab Four certainly needed an image of their own. Faces and hair would be a good start!
