It is a very sad morning at my house.
My family and I are waking up to an empty house because darling young bunny Max had an emergency dash to the Animal hospital  overnight.

Urban Alpacas

I live in the  metropolitan area of Adelaide, South Australia. Yes, the suburban life for me. It keeps me close to all the conveniences a busy family could want; e.g. schools, universities, shops, hospitals, public transport and entertainment. (Not to mention sealed roads and footpaths for wheelchair access.) Don't get me wrong, I love nature and the countryside, especially the coast, but at my current stage of life and family, it suits me to be a suburbanite.

One fine day in 2014, during a driving errand, I had to look twice: was that an alpaca I saw walking along the footpath??

New Year Thoughts as We Head into 2016

I am sitting here, reading blogs at the breakfast table while bunny sits underneath my chair nudging my feet with his nose and tugging at my pajama bottoms.  'Let's play!' Max urges as I stroke him gently with my bare feet.

Meanwhile, I am enjoying the Happy New Year wishes being disseminated across the blogosphere and wishing you a Happy New Year too!

The school term has finished and I'm settling into a more relaxed pace with more time to crochet but I have to ask myself, "If I want to get the crocheted projects done in time for Christmas Day, why am I getting out the sewing machine?"

When I joined Ravelry, I stated on my profile page that "I want to learn to spin my bunny's fur into angora yarn".  To that end, every time Smokey Bunny moulted, we collected his long, soft fibres of fur. 

Crafty Christmas Surprises

One of the best things about Christmas is the opportunity to catch up with friends and family. It's been a busy week of preparations, punctuated by joyful interludes with welcome visitors, the delivery of newsy letters from faraway friends and many phone calls with long-overdue chats.
